Malicious Existence (Band biography) Naga city Philippines

Malicious Existence is a 3-piece grindcore band from the forsaken land of Naga City, Bicol. The band was formed on May 2014.
The band started out as a solo project by Joben Amador and managed to produce a 4-track demo but it was never released. He thought that it would be a great idea if the tracks would be played by a full band.
Amador who happens to be a former drummer of a band called “Grimtooth” ( Thrash metal act from Naga) shared the tracks with the vocalist John Mclain, upon listening to the tracks Mclain Agreed to take the vocals role for the grindcore band.
Mclain and Amador Started conceptualizing for the upcoming formation of the band. Amador Will handle the guitars and Mclain on vocals. Because they still lack a drummer, they called on Paul Salvador who happens to be a drummer for “Bipher” ( Black Thrash Metal from Naga). Salvador Joined the band without hesitation and on that day Malicious Existence was born.
Because it’s already a full band, each member shared their ideas in creating tracks, and the 4-track demo turned out to be a 9-Track demo with one song cover from Napalm Death. It was a raw demo, purely D.I.Y. It was called “Pandemonium Demo 2014”
After Releasing the Demo, the band started playing in local gigs. They brought noise to every event which made the crowd a little surprised because the songs were short, fast, dirty and noisy (Qualities that define a grindcore shit) The band wasn’t given a warm welcome in some events because the crowd was expecting a band that would show excellent musicianship, but what they got are 3 bastards who play noisy grindcore.
After Getting stoked because of the Demo, the band decided to create more tracks for the upcoming EP, still they managed to add some songs and do the recordings. The band produced an 11-Track EP and it was self-released. The First copies were sold during the 20th Anniversary of one of the most respected band in the noise industry, Disabuse. The band also played on the event which is an honor for them and consider it as the greatest gig they ever played on.

Jasper Infested art/ Days of Desolation Interview (2014)

1. Hello Jasp. how’s life treating you?

Hi, Joey. Everything is pretty good here. Draw, eat, shit, draw some more, sleep, repeat. How about over there?
2.How did you get into drawing/arts? And why Infested Art? Can you share a little story about it?
I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved it and still do, so it naturally evolved into what it is now. As far as drawing for bands goes, I used to do the artwork for a band I used to be in and flyer art for the shows I put on locally. It didn’t take long before I was doing zine covers and record covers for friends in other local and not so local bands. With the help of myspace I got a lot more requests from bands and people all over the world and it just grew from there really.
Infested Art, because I don’t really consider what I make is art in a traditional sense or at least what I got told art was in school. In my opinion a lot of things can be art and it’s all very much subjective. People should decide for themselves what is art to them and what isn’t. If anyone thinks or says what I do is art, then it is. It’s just as valid to state it’s not and/or complete and utter shit.
3. What mostly pushes you to do your artworks?
I just love drawing and it’s my greatest passion. A lot of the time I can’t think of anything I’d rather be doing, really. It keeps me sane for the most part, haha. For me it’s a good way to channel my frustrations, anger, etc. and turn it into something that’s, to me at least, productive. Personally, finishing a drawing you’ve spent countless hours working on feels enormously gratifying. It’s even better when it makes people happy or get inspired, whether those people are “clients” or not. There’s also always room for improvement and much more to learn as far my technique and ‘skills’ go, so surely that pushes me as well.
4. Artist that inspire/influence you alot?
I must say Pushead was a big influence in my childhood, as was Brian Froud and one of my aunts who made amazing, fantasy themed paintings, come to think of it. Salvador Dali and especially M.C. Escher had an impact when I was in my teens along with a lot of manga/anime artists like Katsuhiro Otomo, Yoshiki Takaya, Tetsuo Hara, Yoshiaki Kawajiri and much later Junji Ito.
The only thing other artists inspire me to do now is to go draw, so I wouldn’t really say other artists influence me a lot at the moment. However, some artists which I think are absolutely awesome and definitely worth checking out are Daniel Shaw, Santos, Alisha, Alix, Spidermike, Shunsuke and Stiv of War.
5. How’s the process when you’re dealing with bands? Do you always ask their ideas for the artworks they wanted to be done? any special technique when you’re doing an artwork?
I automatically ask if the band has an idea I should work with. It’s their design, so I think it’s only logical they have the first say. Usually, I have enough freedom to come up with my own ideas and/or details. Most bands know what they’re in for when they ask me to make them something. After that I send a sketch, make modifications if necessary and ink it using the stippling technique. I don’t know if the technique is that special, but I like the effect stippling gives best. All those dots are pretty tiring for the eyes after the while though, haha. I don’t really use other techniques, besides pencil for tattoo designs and watercolours and a bit of coloured pencil for the coloured designs. I’d love to do some experimenting with oil- and acrylic paint, but I just don’t have the time for that right now.
6. How can you define your art? Can you tell us more about your style in drawing?
I would much rather leave the defining to the spectator, honestly. From what I hear it’s gloomy, doomy and aggressive. Some people tell me I should draw nicer things, hahaha. I think the only thing I can say is that it conceptually revolves around socio-political issues (from my point of view) a lot of the time. Not that I want or think I have to point things out in specific or spread a certain message. I think a lot of people know this world, although there’s a lot of beauty in it, is pretty messed up.
I don’t know what to tell you about my style. It’s just the way I draw. I don’t try to draw a certain way, but it just comes out like it does.
7. So how’s the art book you have published? any plans of releasing another one?
It’s actually the second one I did. The first one was more like a zine, printed in black and white on photocopy paper at a local store. Zine’s are very cool and all, but basically, I just wanted to the second one to be/look a little more professional, get some coloured images in there and have a thicker cover too. So I looked around a bit and found a great printing company online. The result was a full colour, 40 paged, A4 sized paperback. I had 200 of them printed. 100 with a black and white cover and 100 with a coloured cover. They’re all gone now though. I might have another 50 printed. I’m not sure yet. What I am sure of is that the 3rd art book is on the way. I just have to see which designs and how many will go in there. I want to have at least 40 pages/images and put something extra with it like a poster or something. We’ll see. To me an art book is like what a record is to a band. Watching images on your computer screen or cell phone will just never ever have the same charm a physical copy of a book has. The same goes for music. No digital format will ever beat a nice piece of vinyl.
8. And how’s days of Desolation? Can you share us a little biography ?
We started out as a three-piece somewhere back in 2007. Back then it was just me, Owen and a guy called Gert. We were (and still are) heavily influenced by bands like Cop on Fire, Ekkaia, Ictus, End of All, Ambulance, … and wanted to try something like it, but with more blast beats. We just wrote some songs, not really planning on ever playing live. Gert was supposed to play bass and do the vocals. That didn’t work out like we intended and we wanted to have two guitars to do some melodic stuff, so Gert traded the bass for the guitar and we asked Olke to come and sing. We couldn’t find a bass player and played our first couple shows without one. Gert also played in a German metal band at that time called Deadlock. He used to travel between Leipzig, Germany and Belgium all the time, but he became more and more involved with life in Germany, so it didn’t take long before he just didn’t have time for Days of Desolation anymore. He lives in Berlin now where he has a family of his own. In 2009 Strouven joined on bass. A couple years later Frank ‘the tank’ Rogiers replaced him. So now it’s me, Owen, Olke and Frank. Sometimes we do play shows as a 2 or 3 piece when Olke, Frank or both have other priorities.
9. Any new releases ? future projects ?
Our split 7” with Controlled Existence from the Czech Republic came out last March on Power-It-Up records from Germany. We’re very happy with that one. Controlled Existence is an awesome band with awesome people. As for Power-It-Up records, they fucking rule. Truly some of the coolest people I have ever met. I love those guys.
We’re always writing new stuff. More split releases and another full length are in the works. I can’t give you much details yet, but we’re working on it.
Owen and I recorded some new tracks with China Syndrome recently too. I’m guessing that should be ready by November.
10. Word association:
Pushead
Master of the potlood.
Bullets and guns
Destruction.
Skulls
End of the line.
Grind
Love.
Crust
Love.
11. Thnx a lot Jasp, any last words/ comments/ shouts

Bam Sickos Art interview (july 2014)

1.Hello there Bam, hows life treating you now?

Hi, Joey. Life is good. I'm expecting my first child here in the Philippines, hopefully I'll be a father this year so yeah ... everything is great!

2.How did you get into arts / drawing? can you share a little story about it?

Well, I've been drawing since I was a kid. It's what I love to do. I Learned from album cover arts and comic books. I have many friends from all over the world Because of my drawings. Passion is the reason. I will never stop drawing.

3 What mostly push you to do your artworks? Influences? Thats artist inspires you a lot?

Doing art is like a therapy for me. I need it to make me feel alive. For the main influences is skulls and ganja and the symbol of eight (star of chaos). I'm obsessed with skulls and ganja. For me Skulls represent life and death while ganja represents wisdom. Symbol of eight or star of chaos have important meaning to me, it represents endless possibilities ... I have tattoos of that symbol. I'm inspired by many artists ... well ... I actually ripped off their style to create mine haha. Some of the artists that have influenced or inspired me are: Pushead, Sugi, Shunsuke Shimizu. From Indonesia: Didi Painsugar, Arian13, Moorg, Tremor. From Pinas: Lester "Tenga" Ronquillo, Nicol Messina, England Hidalgo ... damn, I can continue forever haha

4 Hows the process when dealing with your bands? Do you always ask their ideas for the artwork They wanted to be done? Any special technique sick when your doing your art?

Sometimes I'm the one who contacts the band and offering Them artwork. Music is a major Influence to my drawing process. I always listen to music when drawing so I just make artwork for bands that I like .. Yes, sometimes I got the request from the band and Usually I ask what do They have in mind but most of the time I'd just make artwork and tell the band "use it if you like it, ignore it if you do not". For example, the t-shirt graphic I made for MASS Separation (Malaysia), it has ganja and the band asked me to remove the ganja part, I Refused and They ended up printing the t-shirt with my artwork with ganja on it hahaha . It's good to know that people appreciate my works ... some of them have been kind enough to pay me. No special technique ... the technique that I used is Called stippling.

5 How can you define your art compare to others? can tell us more about your style in drawing?

I never compare my work with others'. What I do is compare my new art with the old ones ... the new one has to be better. I'm more into traditional art. I learn from artists that I have mentioned before. Most of my works were created by arranging lines and dots on a piece of paper.

6 You been in the Philippines quite far now? Hows your observation about the scene here compare and grindcrust on indonesia?

Yes. I've been here for almost 4 years. I'm sorry that I still can not speak in Tagalog but I do understand a bit so the taxi drivers here will not be able to rip me off haha. I've been here long enough so I'm more familiar with the local scene. Everything is great. I love the local scene. Solid scene, cool people but unfortunately we need to communicate with DIY scenes from other parts of the world more intensively so the world will be is properly informed about is what's going on here Because as you can see, we've been ignored by many touring bands for no reason. Fuck touring bands who visited south east Asia without Even bother to try to contact us here in the Philippines. I'm not going to compare the local scene with Indonesian scene. Indonesia is crazy. We have gargantuan scene there ... and it is very active and alive.

7 Any new projects currently working on?

No. I'm busy with my day jobs and preparing things to welcome my child but I would like you to know that I have a record label Called Sickos Records. I have released an Indonesian D-crust band KONTRASOSIAL "Vol.4" on cassette. It's a co-release with Delusion Of Terror Records. Hopefully the cassettes will arrive in the Philippines by August or September this year and we're planning to bring the band to Pinas' soil.

8 Your goal?

This world is a very depressing place. What I can feel now is the absence of empathy, absence of respect and absence of tolerance Toward each other Which leads me to have a very simple goal in life ... to be a kind person. That's all.

9 thnx alot Bam. Anything you want to say / comments / shouts / contacts?

Thank you, Joey. I feel honored. Barbaric excuse my English. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Good luck with I Am Molotov zine.
Cheers to: My wife, Flowergrave Collective, Ethnic Bandit, Emman jap nazi bastard (Delusion Of Terror Records), Noel (Mutilated Noise Records), Jamie (Guttural Sickness Zine and Splatter Clothing and his disgusting bands ), Alvin (Insane Bazooka / One-A Records), Joe Kidd, Global diy conspiracy and all my families and friends everywhere. On Being a Woman

On Being a Woman

Part I: What does it mean to be a woman today?

To be a woman today is to be damaged, troubled, demented, deranged, fragmented, bipolar, schizoid, confused, insecure. Everyday you play in a constant tug-of-war of the past and the future, always adjusting to whatever it is the world requires. The world, so obviously aware of your power, tries to limit your existence, box you within the confines of their needs, afraid of the moment you become aware of your power and begin to wield it upon them.

To be a woman today is still very much what it’s like to be years ago. Perhaps even a decade ago, except for the ridiculous hairstyles, half-slips and unflattering oversized underwears. From the very moment you were conceived and bore the XY chromosomes, you future is pretty much sealed. Thanks to a cycle call history. You are a prey, and you would be, at least for the next few years. Your aging grandpa, your dad, your curious brother or troubled cousin, your houseboy. You are to live in pink and plenty of toys that conditions you on your future princess cum housewife status. These toys includes baby dolls that drink, milk and for hell’s sake, pee; Barbie dolls that are enough to make us green with their accessories; fairytale stories that could be blame for what is now a mental condition called Cinderella Syndrome. Your childhood is the beginning of the conditioning. To be a girl is already dangerous. To be a girl and a kid doubles it. You are powerless. You are prone to abuse.

Come adolescence and what you have is curiosity, and a good doze of raging hormones. This is where the trouble begins. Where to look at? Family. Peers. Media. What you will have by then is a mix and match of conflicting ideas just enough to drive you nuts. You begin to have issues with your body, depending on the preferences prescribed by your own culture, or the society. You have parents who teach you virtues from Sunday schools but do otherwise. You read about the 60’s, Western concept of women liberation and wonders if it’s not another propaganda to serve men themselves. You decided to embrace half of it, wear skirts and make-ups for empowerment, explore your sexuality but you are called slut by the same men you slept with, by the same people who taught you that sexual liberty is the way to do be free. You are Eve for the religious and the misogynist. Only they didn’t realize that the pain inflicted by other women to some men is in fact a repercussion of the system they perpetuate themselves. You are also Magdalene and the words they slur on you are bitch, slut, whore, the likes. But then again you read somewhere that Magdalene is Jesus’ wife. You realize that perhaps, Jesus would have been a better lover compared to ones you had.

You feel lost. You cry. Now they call you emotional. Never mind that these people seem to lack the urge to at least do they research to know that women’s tear gland is shallower than men. Then someone from your history class declared that women are incapable decision-makers because they are too emotional. You know better that there is no difference between what a man and a woman feels, only what is it that the society allows. You know women are more open with their emotions because they are allowed to do so while men tend to suppress it because it has been conditioned that showing emotions is a feminine quality, thus making it weak. You know that but you also know better now to keep your mouth shut. It’s scary to be considered a feminist. Since when did being one becomes so bad to a point of ridicule, you will never know, only that some so-called revolutionary groups denounce it saying it create divides. Maybe when the word equality was rendered, who knows. You understand. That, the Madonna complex, the fear of not having control over things they don’t have power with, and the fear that awareness might put them in a slanted position without anyone to fuck. You understand because you’re a woman and this time, it is scientifically proven. You are not expected to engage in public fights but to turn the anger inward because there’s a certain indention in your brain that makes you holistic and better in seeing the entirety of any situation. It doesn’t matter that your serotonin level is 56% lower than men making you more prone to depression. What matters is that it is better to own your anger than release it and be called cheap or “palengkera”, of which you will not to know what is so bad of, while men can stupidly pick fights and get away with it with pride. You accept that, thinking it must be the doing of your own physical limitations so you think of another way to release the anger but before you are able to execute it, you are told that it’s not plausible for a woman to sleep around. You are to know that the specific compartment of your brain that gets stimulated during sexual intercourse is the same one that produces your attachment hormones making every sexual act more emotional compared to men who, according to studies, can compartmentalize. You think it’s unfair and thinks that maybe they just want an excuse for their sowing-seed mentality. You wonder if science is another propaganda to instill fear, twisted like history itself which is mostly but a written memoir on who overpowered whom within a specific timeframe. Of course you also know that in relation to being animals, of which they always use as a valid reason, such mentality is a form of defense mechanism. That was anthrobiology speaking. You remember ant hierarchies.

So somewhere in the middle of your confusion, you get tired competing for men and fighting for something that generates nothing but mockery, sometimes even from members of your own specie. You forgive. You understand. It’s the system. Hate the game not the players, they say. You let go. You let go of the thought that maybe men do think that sex is an act of killing, that maybe breast-sucking is indeed a “missing-mom” syndrome. Or maybe, you had a serious Freudian damage. What you understand though is that your biological clock is ticking. You need to propagate. That is either anthrobiology speaking, or a lingering look from your mom that pressures you.

You try normalcy this time and buy the hype about marriage being the joyous moment of any woman’s life. After all, you like the small promise of security. Never mind that if ever you become a human punching bag, you still couldn’t get divorce. There’s annulment anyway, only it costs a leg and years of struggle, depending on your social status. You have kids, a pair of sagging breasts and bottoms. You have your maternity issues that can sometimes be the reason for work discrimination. You are till prone to abuse- verbal and physical. But you will understand because you are a woman, you have kids, and you understand that some men can’t handle the responsibilities the culture handed upon them. You justify his every action as a manifestation of anything that occurred in the past and damaged him in a way. You know because you are just like that, but you know better to realize and learn. So you let him displaced his anger, his frustrations on everything that they feel powerful over with, like you and the kids, than to have him commit suicide. You have kids to feed and a broken home means a lifetime of mockery for your kids.

You are lucky to grow old but your sexual libido has left you with a philandering hubby, suffering from post midlife crisis. You let it pass. It is your fault that you are a sexual dysfunction and your breasts are wrinkled like prunes. Do not be surprised if one day, the security you worked so hard to maintain will fall easily on the hands of a young girl the age of your granddaughter. But still, you will understand. This is the way of the world, and the system is smart enough to monopolize it. You will understand that to fight with each other, that to women-hate is what the system wants. You understand, not only because you’re a damaged, troubled, demented, deranged, fragmented, bipolar, schizoid, confused, insecure woman, but an experienced one. You always know better it seems.

Part II: What does it mean to be a ‘thinking’ woman today?

[Insert names here.]

Part III: What does it mean to be a ‘good’ woman today?

“Most men love oral sex. Some men even prefer a blow job to full sex. So as oral sex is such a big deal for the boys, we ought to know how to do it well.

Going down on, giving head, sucking off, mouth f***, there are plenty of ways to describe the act of oral sex, but they're all talking about the same thing - sexual pleasure, down there, using your mouth.
What is oral sex (blow job)?

To give the Latin name, fellatio, (aka blow job), is an oral sex act which involves stimulating the penis using the tongue, lips and mouth. Most men are fans of the blow job as it gives him intense sexual sensations and can bring him to orgasm.
How to give oral sex:

As a rule, oral sex should mimic the movements of full sex penetration and while it's called a blow job - there's no blowing involved! Don't make that rookie mistake!

Instead, blow like a pro and take his penis into your mouth, (with plenty of spit) and suck up and down his shaft mimicking the thrusting motion of penetration, taking care not to graze his 'friend' with your teeth. Remember when it comes to sucking him off, teeth are never welcome.

One thing men don’t like is mechanical oral sex, performed without passion. He wants to know that you're enjoying it as much as him, so vary your rhythm, speed and intensity. Try gently caressing his testicles and then try upping the pace for a few strokes. Take him to the edge then bring him back from the brink to get him revved up and eager for more.

Lick, suck and play with his erect penis using your tongue. Don't be shy to make eye contact too. To make sure you’re hitting the spot, watch and listen to his reactions. Ask him what he likes. All men are different and he'll be thrilled that you want to know exactly how to please him.

Giving good head isn't rocket science, but there are some top tips, tried and tested, that will help make your next blow job one to remember. Read on for the so feminine secrets on how to be a 'head' mistress. Oh yeah.”

Learn to give the best blowjobs. It does wonders.
